| Abstract | The aim of this study was to conduct a literature review on the application of the technique of mirror therapy in patients with hemiparesis, victims of cerebrovascular accident (CVA), with reference to, items listed in the database Scielo, published between the years 2005-2012, aiming at selecting the largest studies of scientific evidence. Mirror therapy has been a technique of adjuvant therapy in motor rehabilitation of patients with hemiplegia. The literature review showed that although there are few studies comparing the techniques of mirror therapy to patients with stroke, the results were significant, showing great improvement rate of these patients. Thus, it is evident the need for new studies on this topic so that the development of new protocols for physical therapy for these patients is very possible, and also to demonstrate the advancement and improvement of this technique. |
