Abstract	We evaluated the yield of sugarcane, sugar, dry matter and water use efficiency of two sugarcane varieties submitted to irrigation slides in the city of Penápolis SP. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with a 2 x 7 factorial arrangement, two sugarcane varieties (RB965902 and RB855453) and seven irrigation slides (L0 is 0%, L1 is 25%, L2 is 50%, L3 is 75 %, L4 is 100, L5 is 125% and L6 is 150% of crop evapotranspiration ETc), with four replicates. The irrigation system used was subsurface drip irrigation, with emitters of 1.40 L h. The yields of stalks, sugar, dry matter and USA were obtained. The L3 treatment promoted increases of 11% in yield of stalks and 18.13% in that of sugar for variety RB855453. However, there was similarity in yield of stalks and sugar only in treatments L0 and L6. With the application of the L6 treatment, there was a 12.36% increase in stem yield and 14.55% in sugar for the variety RB965902, while L4 increased 19.00% of dry matter yield, both compared to L0. The variety RB965902 showed higher USA (5.16 mm tons ) at L0 and RB855453 at L3 (5.52 mm tons). The variety RB855453 demonstrates a greater efficiency in the use of water in the irrigated treatment, while the RB965902 in the treatment of rainfed.
