| Abstract | This paper describes the current situation, goals and needs that led to the creation of the "Observatories of Archaeological and Paleontological Heritage (OPAP) in the Province of Buenos Aires”program, under the agenda for Protection, Research and Rescue of Paleontological and Archaeological Heritage". The same is done by the Provincial Directorate of Cultural Heritage (DPPC) through the Archaeological and Paleontological Heritage Registration Center (CRPAP) from Buenos Aires Province. The observatories point to generate interconnection between different types of actors: anthropologists, archaeologists, paleontologists, municipal and provincial authorities, teachers and the general public. They allow decentralize the actions management and communications between the Registration Center and the departments of each observatory, working intensively with local authorities, to break off the barriers that often impede the realization of this kind of cultural policies. |
