| Abstract | An isothermal jet and a hot jet are computed by compressible Large Eddy Simulations (LES). The acoustic Mach number is fixed at M∞ = 0.9, and the Reynolds number, based on ejection velocity and nozzle diameter, is equal to ReD = 1× 10 for the isothermal jet and ReD = 4 × 10 for the hot jet. Both simulations are performed to analyse temperature effects on noise generation mechanisms in jets. Far field acoustic propagation is provided by the use of the Ffowcs-Williams and Hawkings integral formulation.
