| Abstract | espanolEl empleo de productos naturales para controlar plagas de insectos en granos almacenados no es una actividad nueva; sin embargo, su desempeno en la mayoria de los casos carece de sustento cientifico. Por esta razon se ha evaluado la efectividad de mas de 30 especies vegetales y materiales diversos para controlar algunas de las especies mas importantes. De los resultados obtenidos destacan por su accion contra el gorgojo del maiz Sitophilus zeamais (Mots.), las plantas de chicalote Argemone sp. y valeriana Valeriana officinalis ambas provocando 98.9% de mortalidad, 0% de emergencias de la primera generacion y 0% de dano al grano: se incluye tambien la ruda Ruta graveolens con 43.3%, 0% y 0%. Como material diverso la cal causo 100%, 0% y 0% respectivamente. Para el gorgojo del frijol Zabrotes subfasciatus (Boh.) el chicalote origino 98.7% de mortalidad, 0% de emergencias y 0% de dano; en tanto que la cal 100%, 0% y 0%. Finalmente, se redujeron las poblaciones del gorgojo del garbanzo Callosobruchus maculatus (Fab.) con el chicalote, induciendo el 26.2% de mortalidad y 0% tanto de emergencias como de dano al grano. EnglishThe employment of natural products to control plagues of insects in grains stored is not a new activity; nevertheless, its performance in most of the cases lacks scientific sustenance. For this reason the effectiveness has been evaluated of more than 30 species of plants and diverse materials to control some of the most important species. The obtained results they highlight for their action against the weevil of the corn Sitophilus zeamais (Mots.), the plants of chicalote Argemone sp. and valeriana Valeriana officinalis both causing 98.9% of mortality, 0% of emergencies of the first generation and 0% of damage to the grain: it is also included the ruda Ruta graveolens with 43.3%, 0% and 0%. As material diverse the lime caused 100%, 0% and 0% respectively. For the weevil of bean Zabrotes subfasciatus (Boh.) the chicalote originated 98.7% of mortality, 0% of emergencies and 0% of damage; while the lime 100%, 0% and 0%. Finally, the populations of the weevil of the chickpea diminished Callosobruchus maculatus (Fab.) with the chicalote, inducing 26.2% of mortality and 0% so much of emergencies as damage to the grain. |
