| Abstract | The present thesis investigates the obstetric violence forced on black women who found themselves in puerperal birth-cycle (prenatal, childbirth, post childbirth) in a public hospital in Feira de Santana, Bahia heartland. It’s analyzed in this thesis how they experience the healthcare through the different phases of childbirth. 13 selfdeclared black women, with ages between 18 and 45 and normal to high childbirth risk participated in this research. The methodology used was a semi-structured interview with quality and exploratory approach to build up the research data. The data were explored using theme and content analyses following Minayo(66) guidelines. The analysis structure was made by successive approximations and categorizations proposals, in wich the set of depositions or the observations records could be classified using the data-gathering instrument and crossing the methods (individual semi-structured interviews and data from the field diary), in wich sense cores were formulated. The categories established were Access; Women's health and race issue; Perceptions of violence in the gravidarum cycle and black woman on the pregnancy-puerperal cycle. From these categories the analytical content of the dissertation was elaborated. This thesis was organized in the following way: On the first chapter is discussed the thesis’s theme with the goal to establish an analysis of the obstetric violence matter, and your importance to society. The goals answering to the object of this thesis is also present in this chapter. On the second chapter the theoretical framework is settled. Violence and healthcare are analyzed based on the social sciences theoretical context. On the third chapter the theoretical elements used to support the methodology were introduced. The conclusion is presented on the fourth chapter, where the results of the discussions and research are presented, explaining the experiences of the black women through the puerperal childbirth cycle. |
