NDLI: Lista de aves dañinas en Costa Rica: la otra cara de la moneda

Abstract	We consider that some bird species categorized as "harm- ful" by Monge in his "Updated list of harmful birds of Costa Rica (2012)" should not be in the list. Birds should not be considered "harmful", "pest" or "potential pest" in Costa Rica just because they were so in other latitudes. We argue that the list should be reevaluated to avoid an unnecessarily negative perception of birds. RESUMEN: Consideramos que algunas aves categorizadas como "dani- nas" por Monge en su "Lista actualizada de aves daninas en Costa Rica (2012)" no deberian estar en esa lista. Tampoco creemos que las aves puedan ser consideradas "daninas", "plaga" o "potencialmente plaga" en Costa Rica solo por serlo en otra latitud. Sugerimos que dicha lista deberia ser reevaluada, para evitar una percepcion innecesariamente negativa sobre las aves.
