| Abstract | Objectives: To evaluate the corneal posterior curvature changes after phacoemulsification cataract surgery with 2.75 mm corneal incision. Materials and Methods: In this prospective study, corneal posterior curvature changes were evaluated in 56 eyes of 56 patients. All patients underwent corneal tomography using the Galilei G2, preoperatively and with two weeks, one month and three months after surgery. Tomographic parameters that were statistically analyzed in the posterior cornea were the steep curvature, flat curvature, mean curvature, and posterior astigmatism of the cornea. Results: There was not statistically significant change in the posterior corneal curvature parameters in any postoperative follow-up measurements, showing that the postoperative values tend to be the same values as the preoperative. Conclusion: The 2.75 mm corneal incision in phacoemulsification cataract surgery does not induce significant changes in the posterior corneal curvature. |
