| Abstract | Heavy Ion Heating and Expansion (HIHEX) technique [1, 2] has been proposed to study the equation-ofstate (EOS) of high-Energy-Density (HED) matter using intense uranium beam at the future Facilit for Antiprotons and Ion Research (FAIR) [3]. Previously we considered solid material for such studies whereas in the present work we use porous targets that are heated by the above ion beam. Numerical simulations of the hydrodynamic and thermodynamic response of the beam–heated material has been carried out using a two–dimensional hydrodynamic computer code, BIG-2 [4]. |
