| Abstract | Since its inception at the University of McMaster (Canada), Problem Based Learning (PBL) was conceived as an appropriate methodology for the health science education. The use of this methodology has grown over the years. The PBL favors the acquisition of communication skills, critical thinking and teamwork and increases motivation in students. One of the main characteristics of this system is that a health care problem serves as stimulus and guide to student learning which provide students with a reality-centered learning that they will face in the real world of work. This intervention proposal is intended for the Module Promotion of Health and Psychological Support to the Patient, of the Training Cycle of the Intermediate Degree of Technician in Auxiliary Nursing Care (TCAE). Focusing on the psychosocial care of the oncological patient, given that the WHO estimates that the incidence figures of this disease will increase in the short and medium term. Therefore, it is necessary for the TCAE to be taught in communication skills that provide humanized attention to patients with cancer. The aim of this Final Master's Project is to suggest an intervention proposal for psychosocial care for cancer patients using an active methodology that achieves significant learning in students, increasing their motivation. Looking as a result, that the future TCAE can humanize the care they provide to cancer patients. |
