Abstract	Law 40/2007 of 4 December, on measures relating to Social Security recognizes the right to a survivor's pension to life partners, or in fact, and as such is an important decision in social terms of family law. The distinction between stable marriages and couples for the purposes of widow's pensions has been a contentious issue in the past two decades. This reform of the Social Security System is a new analysis of personal requirements, economic and accreditation of stable couples. The diversity of laws between different autonomous communities enjoy their own civil law leads to discriminatory situation, according to the Constitutional Court Judgment 40/2014, of March 11, 2014.
