| Abstract | This thesis main objective is to conduct an analysis of the impact of microfinance in the economic development of the canton Catamayo in the period 2011-2012; to study a survey was conducted to the PEA (economically active population), considering a sample of 388 people, because through this indicator could determine the population occupied and unoccupied Canton. With the results it was determined that the income of the inhabitants of urban and rural areas come from the economic activities engaged in their daily work, the same that has allowed them to solve family expenses, production, marketing, services, among others; in the same way these changes are also the result of the granting of micro credits issued by financial institutions located in the canton helping to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants through an improvement in the economy. Currently there is the creation of non-governmental development agencies and financial institutions that have worked together to achieve progress and emergence of Canton, all this due to financial discrimination by traditional banks especially in the rural sector, for not having the necessary guarantees that allow access to credit. It was evident that a major axis for economic development of the canton are the production sectors (agriculture, forestry and fisheries) and trade because it is a canton through its roads linking the various cities and cantons of Ecuador allowing therethrough is marketed products elsewhere in the country. |
