| Abstract | Adhesive bonding offers many advantages over traditional mechanical assembly and welding, and is used in many applications where weight is critical. Adhesives are also used in many applications under humid environment, which can be really severe, resulting in reversible or permanent changes to the adhesive [1] (plasticization, swelling...). However, in order to propose reliable solutions, it is essential to be able to guarantee long term properties. In order to develop representative numerical models, experimental results under various multi-axial loads are required. In a previous study, a modified Arcan test has been developed [2] to analyse the behaviour of an adhesive in an assembly under tensile/compression-shear loads using a unique bonded joint designed to limit stress concentrations.
