| Abstract | This research aims to: 1) Determine the amount of logical thinking ability of students grade X SMAN 3 Makassar before being taught to approach Inquiry, 2) Know the size of logical thinking ability of students grade X SMAN 3 Makassar after being taught to approach such an inquiry, 3) Know the size improvement of logical thinking ability of students grade X SMAN 3 Makassar after being taught by the inquiry approach. This study is a pre-experimental study using the One-group pretest-Posttest Design. The data were analyzed descriptively. From the descriptive analysis obtained an average score of logical thinking ability of students before being taught physics by inquiry approach is 8 with a standard deviation of 3 and after being taught by the inquiry approach was 16 with a standard deviation of 3.11. The results showed that an increase in logical thinking skills of learners of 0.4. Learners grade X SMAN 3 Makassar which follows the approach of learning by inquiry increased the ability to think logically are included in the medium category.
