Abstract	Potential influence of settlement realization of the plan of spatial development of Wielkopolska region on environment In a forecast of the influence of plans of spatial development of Wielkopolska on environment, the attention has been paid to possibilities of matching the space of the region to challenges of XXI century and increasing efficiency of using development resources of the region. It has been evaluated that conflicts may appear between the strengthening of region creative functions of Poznan (European metropolis), Kalisz, Ostrow Wlkp. (over-regional system) and the restructuring areas of improper development potential. The realization of plans of protection areas will have beneficial influence on natural resources. However, those plans have negative influence on the protection of open suburban areas being under strong urbanization pressure. From the environment protection and balanced development point of view a lot of negative features have the development of over-local transport and technical infrastructure systems. Positive influence will be visible especially in the protection of surface water.
