| Abstract | ABSTRACT. Rising of the birds of the Area of Environmental Protection of Piacabucu, in the coast of Alagoas, Brazil. The coast from Alagoas is constituted by estuaries, dunes and deltas, being verified the influence of the tides, that you/they mark presence with the growth of mangroves, sheltering several species of resident birds and many other migratory. The data were collected in the Area of Environmental Protection of Piacabucu, located in the southern end of the State of Alagoas, among the coordinates (22o 14’ N, 10o 20’ S, 41o 08’ L and 36o 20’ W). This research had duration of twelve months, understanding the dry and rainy stations, with monthly expeditions of three days each, among October of 2004 to September of 2005. The rising of the avifauna was accomplished by qualitative analysis through visual and sound observations, with the binocular use and specialized literature, during having walked for the beach areas, growth of mangroves, temporary lakes and dunes that you/they compose the complex of the landscapes of this unit of conservation. 29 families, 69 goods and 79 species were registered, of the which 17,7% (n=14) they are migratory. The coast of Alagoas consists of important area for the conservation of the birds. KEY WORDS. Avifauna, conservation, list. RESUMO. Levantamento das aves da Area de Protecao Ambiental de Piacabucu, no litoral de Alagoas, Brasil. O litoral alagoano e constituido por estuarios, dunas e deltas, verificando-se a influencia das mares, que marcam presenca com os manguezais, abrigando diversas especies de aves residentes e muitas outras migratorias. Os dados foram coletados na Area de Protecao Ambiental de Piacabucu, localizada no extremo meridional do Estado de Alagoas, entre as coordenadas (22o 14’ N, 10o 20’ S, 41o 08’ L e 36o 20’ O). Esta pesquisa teve duracao de doze meses, compreendendo as estacoes seca e chuvosa, com expedicoes mensais de tres dias cada, entre outubro de 2004 a setembro de 2005. O levantamento da avifauna foi realizado por analise qualitativa atraves de observacoes visuais e auditivas, com a utilizacao de binoculo e literatura especializada, durante caminhadas pelas areas de praia, manguezal, coqueiral, lagos temporarios e dunas que compoem o complexo paisagistico desta unidade de conservacao. Foram registradas 29 familias, 69 generos e 79 especies, das quais 17,7% (n = 14) sao migratorias. O litoral de Alagoas consiste em area prioritaria para a conservacao das aves. PALAVRAS-CHAVE.
