Abstract	Introduction: Since the outset of nursing care, group work processes have evolved into essential components of a nurse's role and responsibilities within the health care system. The aim of this study was to analyze factors facilitating teamwork among nurses working at teaching hospitals, affiliated to University of Medical Sciences of Ahvaz. Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted during year 2015. The population included nurses studying undergraduate and graduate courses at the university of medical centers (N = 917), and simple random sampling with Cochran formula was used to select a sample of 294 individuals. Instruments in this research included a questionnaire whose validity and reliability were verified. In order to analyze the data, descriptive statistics, inferential and exploratory factor analysis, Bartlett's test of sphericity and KMO were used via the SPSS 21 software. Results: Results showed that the factors facilitating teamwork among nurses working at hospitals included seven factors, which explained 64/75 of the total variance. The role of organizational support (13%), education on teamwork skills (13%), flexible structure (10%), participative leadership (9%), group ethics requirements (7%), factors affecting teamwork (7%) and control level (5%), facilitated teamwork among nurses. conclusions: The results showed that knowledge and use of these agents facilitate teamwork, and working to remove barriers for its implementation can help nurses improve their team performance.
