| Abstract | Focused as a case study, this article analyzes two agroindustrial initiatives: i) the «Goat Milk Project» led by the Valle de Punilla Goat Producers Cooperative proposes to develop a milk catchment area; and ii) the Goat Entity Project lead by the Quilino Municipality proposes installing refrigeration for prepared goat cattle. Both propose to offer a «local» solution to the goat production crisis Central Argentina faces. If both projects share the idea of promoting regional development by promoting goatraising, they have very different characteristics in terms of the system of actors present and the strategies employed to reach the proposed objectives. Both experiences were studied considering the same dimensions: i) the origin of the initiative; ii) the trajectory of the project and of the system of actors present; and iii) the evaluation of the experience in relation to the proposed objectives. The systematic accompaniment of each one of the projects permits understanding the underlying logic in each as well as the main strengths and weaknesses that characterize them. Finally, the causes that explain the scarce relation that exists between projects and which in theory should be closely related are analyzed and some thoughts are formulated that bring forth the possible trajectory of each one of them. |
