| Abstract | The aim of this study is to test the efficiency and the accuracy of the ray tracing method applied to factory noise prediction. The originality of the work lies in the complete validation of the method on a real factory workplace instead of a well controlled laboratory case. The main finding of this study is that the ray tracing method is able to accurately predict noise reduction provided by a set of acoustical treatments in a practical case. Finally, this study shows that the method is an useful tool for a industrial company to choose among several acoustical treatments and to optimize the gain/cost ratio. |
