Abstract	espanolEste documento identifica si existen posibilidades de la politica exterior mexicana dentro de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribenos (Celac) para alcanzar una mayor proyeccion en la region. La politica exterior se analiza desde una perspectiva procesal y se resaltan la contingencia historica y las estructuras normativas e ideacionales de la Celac, como mecanismo de dialogo politico al mas alto nivel en la region. Se concluye que no existe una estrategia concreta por parte de la politica exterior mexicana dentro de la Celac porque este espacio regional no ha representado una prioridad tangible y a corto plazo para el gobierno actual, pese a que Mexico fue uno de los impulsores de su creacion. EnglishThis document identifies if there are possibilities for Mexican foreign policy within the Community of Latin-American and Caribbean States (Celac) to achieve a major regional projection. Foreign policy is analyzed from a procedural perspective and the historical contingency and normative and ideational structures of Celac are highlighted, as a mechanism of political dialogue at the highest level in the region. It is concluded there is no concrete strategy on behalf of Mexican foreign policy within Celac because this regional space has not represented a tangible and short-term priority for the current government, even though Mexico was one of the promoters of its creation.
