Abstract	El presente papel de trabajo tiene por objeto central analizar el fenomeno de los movimientos islamistas en el periodo de la Posguerra Fria,indicando para ello los antecedentes historicos que le dan lugar, las causas del resurgimiento islamico, el impacto de la rivalidad irano-saudien ellos, sus estrategias de accion en los distintos espacios a nivel global, los rasgos caracteristicos fundamentales de los movimientos islamicos contemporaneos, asi como el impacto dela culminacion de la Guerra Fria en sus logicas de accion, sus perspectivas y retos como actores en la escena global. Islamic movements in the post Cold-War era. A sociopolitical approach Abstract This work centers on analyzing the phenomenon of Islamic movements in the post Cold-War era, and thus presents its historical background, the causes of Islamic resurgence, the impact there upon of the Iranian-Saudi rivalry, its action strategies at different global levels, the fundamental characteristics of contemporary Islamic movements, as well as the impact of the end ofthe Cold War on its action logics, its perspectives and challenges as actors within the global scene.
