| Abstract | This thesis investigated the lack of ethnic diversity on New Zealand’s stock exchange top NZX50 listed boards. A qualitative methodology was used, founded on a realist paradigm using a case study research design. Semi-structured interviews were conducted and the findings were triangulated using a focus group. This research found there is a need to increase the education of NZX50 directors on the benefits of ethnic board diversity and for prescriptive changes to be made by the New Zealand government to its corporate governance regime. |
