| Abstract | An efficient approachto thedesignof a VLSI arrayfor a prime-lengthtype III generalizeddiscreteHartley transform(GDHT) ispresented. The designmakes useof an appropriatedecomposition of the GDHT into two half-lengthcircular correlationstructureshaving thesamelengthand form that canbe concurrentlycomputedandimplementedon a singlelinear systolicarrayusing someof theknown hardwaresharingtechniques. As a consequence, a substantialincreasein computationalspeedwith a simplified control structureandlow hardwarecomplexity canbeachieved, while preservingall the advantages, suchas the low I/O andhardwarecosts,of thecircularcorrelationbasedVLSI implementations. |
