| Abstract | We begin this article stating the dramatic situation of perinatal medicine in Africa. Then we revise the problems derived from the poor education of the population regarding reproductive health, the limited number of maternal and infant health professionals and their lack of technical training. We especially focus on the problems of standardizing the use of ultrasound in obstetrics and perinatal medicine. Finally, we insist on the role of education for professionals and for the people in general, as a tool to improve perinatal results. |
