| Abstract | The effect of doses of a slow release fertilizer in the development of ornamental pineapple was studied to develop the production system of this plant in pot. Ornamental pineapple seedlings were transplanted into pots filled with commercial substrate HS Florestal® fertilized with five different rates of Osmocote® (NPK 15-09-12) at 0 kg m-3, 4 kg m-3, 8 kg m-3, 12 kg m-3 and 16 kg m-3. The randomized complete block design was used with four replications of two plants for each plot. The plants were evaluated for height, number of leaves per plant and average diameter of the plant, average leaf length, frequency of leaves according leaf length, maximum width of leaves, dry weight of leaves, dry weight of roots and total dry weight of the plant at 202 days after transplanting. The use of controlled-release fertilizer Osmocote® (NPK 15-09-12) increase the development of ornamental pineapple grown in pots, especially at the dosage of 13.2 kg m-3. |
