Abstract	Objetiva-se a analisar a questao da memoria e da identidade no conto “Nga Muturi” (1882), de Alfredo Troni. Busca-se discutir a problematica da identidade angolana, demonstrando que a tentativa de silenciamento da memoria da protagonista se da pelo jogo ironico em que se vai formando sua autoimagem, uma vez que Nga Ndreza vive o impasse de um constante negociar de sua angolanidade para com o mundo do colonizador portugues. Um mundo opressor, onde a voz reinante e a que preconiza uma imagem degenerada do outro. This study aims to examine the issue of memory and identity in the tale “Nga Muturi” (1882), by Alfredo Troni. The aim is thereby to discuss the issue of Angolan identity, demonstrating that the attempt to silence the memory of the protagonist is given by the ironic game by which emerges her self-image, since Nga Ndreza lives the deadlock of constantly trade her Angolannes with the world of the Portuguese colonizer. An oppressive world where the voice that reigns is one that calls for a degenerated image of the other.
