| Abstract | Introduction: The IFN-y is associated with modulation of inflammatory responses that may lead to metabolic chronic diseases. Finding ways to inhibit subclinical inflammation and associated metabolic disorders is of paramount importance. In this context, the inclusion of acai pulp, fruit rich in anthocyanins, may have potential antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect. Objectives: To evaluate the effect of consumption of açaí (Euterpe oleracea Mart mart.) in anthropometric, clinical and biochemical in clinically healthy women parameters classified in two groups: G1 and G2, with IFN-γ concentrations lower and higher than 5 pg / ml, respectively. Methods: 24 women in G1 and 16 women in G2, ate 200g of açaí pulp for 4 weeks, in free living situation. Anthropometric measurements, body composition, biochemical and clinical data were evaluated before and after the intervention. Results: After the intervention, there was a significant reduction in diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.035) and leptin concentrations (p = 0.006) in voluntary G2, while the G1 did not show significant changes. Conclusion: The use of açaí pulp for 4 weeks triggers maintaining metabolic homeostasis in volunteers with IFN-γ concentrations lower than 5 pg / ml and promotes the potential protective effect for metabolic disease in IFN-γ concentrations greater than 5 pg / ml. |
