| Abstract | RESUMEN: La transicion democratica en el Pais Vasco supuso el auge de ciertas manifestaciones culturales que trataban de reconstruir las senas de identidad colectiva, a partir de la recuperacion del euskara. En un contexto de crisis de valores y de expectativas futuras, una parte de la juventud vasca encontro una forma de expresion musical en el denominado rock radical vasco, de amplia resonancia social, donde se ponia de manifiesto una serie de caracteristicas propias de este fenomeno musical, ademas de otras que lo vinculan con la situacion politica y cultural del pais. En este articulo pretendemos mostrar este fenomeno desde una perspectiva mas amplia, como es la cultura popular y ciertas manifestaciones de alfabetizacion y socializacion de una parte de la juventud vasca. ABSTRACT: The transition to democracy in the Basque Country involved the rise of certain cultural manifestations attempting to rebuild signs of collective identity, taking the recovery of the Basque language as a starting point. Within a context of crisis of values and future expectations, one part of the Basque youth discovered a form of musical expression in the so called Basque radical rock, having wide social resonance, in which a series of characteristics typical of this musical phenomenon were prominent, in addition to others linking it to the political and cultural situation of the country. In this article we intend to illustrate this phenomenon from a wider perspective, such as popular culture and certain manifestations of literacy and socialisation of one section of the young people. |
