| Abstract | The implemented reforms of the education sector in Latin America created new social challenges. Given the limited effects on solving the problems of inclusion and incorporation of the new generations to civic life, this paper proposes the need for alternative spaces of expression and participation of youth. From this perspective the new information and communication technologies (ICT) can create new possibilities for the democratic formation of the youngest parts of society. These technologies, close to the reality of the youth, can promote the incorporation of communication tools for a more inclusive and effective participation within the educational processes. This paper aims to be a call to create access to digital technology within educational institutions, the creation of spaces (virtual platforms) and tools that will enable better training towards interaction and participation of young people, especially of those most in need of a better social inclusion. |
