| Abstract | INTRODUCTION 1. Metabolism in Livestock studies are used to determine the qualitative and quantitative metabolism and/or degradation of the active ingredient resulting from pesticide use in feedstuffs, direct application to livestock, or premise treatment. Metabolism in Livestock studies are generally carried out on lactating ruminants and poultry. 2. Livestock metabolism studies are complex. The scientific techniques used to study xenobiotic metabolism and conjugate formation, isolation of animal macromolecules and procedures for generating monomers/oligomers are constantly advancing. It is, therefore, the responsibility of the applicant to utilise state-of-the-art techniques and provide citations of such techniques when used. |
