| Abstract | In the following work the Ecuador, which currently has a government that is considered to be populist, will be analyzed, in order to understand why the current president Rafael Correa and his government has been chosen, and during his trajectory it has forged a new profile of voters. By using logic regression, the idea was to find the relationship between the voting intentions, and the government´s peoples support of Rafael Correa and his party; Alianza Pais in a society that has low levels of N -achievement. In order to achieve that goal LAPOP´s data base was used, which collects data from 2001 to 2012 and using logarithmic regressions by creating binomial variables in the Stata program intended to test that Ecuadorians with low N - achievement are more easily influenced by the candidates as it is populist Rafael Correa when voting, and that a lower level of N – achievement in the people provides more influence in populist candidates for government support . To achieve this goal the basic populism definition given by Flavia Freidemberg 2007, 2008, and the definition of Latin American populism by Carlos de La Torre, was used in addition to the N -achievement theory of David C McClelland |
