| Abstract | espanolEl presente trabajo resume los principales antecedentes sobre el diseno de un Modelo para evaluar competitividad de destinos turisticos (DT) basado en la identificacion e integracion de Factores Criticos de Exito (FCE). El concepto de FCE se basa en la idea de que solo una cantidad limitada de aspectos son realmente criticos o esenciales para garantizar un rendimiento competitivo de exito. Implica la nocion de discriminacion y selectividad en la informacion. Los objetivos principales del trabajo son formular un Modelo integral para evaluar competitividad de DT eficiente y operativo, identificando e integrando factores concretos, basado en un marco teorico conceptual derivado de las disciplinas de la direccion estrategica y el management. Para la formulacion del Modelo se utilizo una metodologia teorico - empirica que se desarrollo en dos fases, recurriendo en primer lugar a la revision documental y el analisis de casos, lo que derivo en el planteamiento del Modelo inicial, para luego someterlo a su validacion empirica mediante la tecnica DELPHI. Como resultado se identificaron y validaron un conjunto de FCE especificos para evaluar competitividad de DT que se integraron en Dimensiones Criticas de competitividad y a los que se asociaron una serie de Indicadores Clave (IC) para su medicion. Esto convierte al Modelo en un instrumento estrategico que permite optimizar la gestion competitiva de un destino. EnglishCritical Success Factors adn the Evaluation of Competitiveness of Tourist Destinations. This article gives a brief contextual overview of the steps taken to design a Model to evaluate the degree of competitiveness of a tourist destination (TD) based on the identification and integration of the Critical Success Factors (CSF). The concept of CSF is based on the idea that only a limited number of factors are really critical or vital to guarantee a competitively successful performance. The main objectives of the article consist in devising an integral Model to evaluate, efficiently and effectively, the degree of competitiveness of a TD, through the identification and integration of specific factors relating to the theoretical framework of strategic management. A two-phase theoreticalempirical methodology was used to design the initial Model. First, an exhaustive review of the existing bibliography on the subject was carried out, together with case-analyses, to formulate an initial Model which was then submitted to empirical validation via a Delphi study. This allowed for the identification and validation of a set of specific CFS to gauge competitiveness of a TD which was integrated into the Critical Dimensions of competitiveness and which, likewise, were associated with a series of Key Indicators (KI) required for the evaluation. The end result is a strategic Model which allows for any tourist destination to optimise its management of competitiveness. |
