Abstract	In the present article, we intend to analyze the memories of two descendants of Italian immigrants using oral interviews in which they describe personal events and their families’ immigration trajectories in Brazil since the beginning of the 20th century. In particular, from a methodological approach linked to the thematic oral history, we seek to make a content analysis in order to develop a reflection on the issues of reinterpretations, self-reproaches and doubts. These elements are found in the memories of the difficulties and traumas generated by the hard process of integration in a foreign land.
