| Abstract | Climate change may affect the geography of crops and change the Brazilian agricultural framework, which mostly occurs in non-irrigated conditions. In this situation, a better understanding of the biological and climatic factors related to tolerance to drought is required. This work aims to study and evaluate the physiological features that sorghum plant uses for increased tolerance to drought. We evaluated four contrasting grain sorghum genotypes for drought tolerance, two sensitive: 9903062 and 9618158, and two tolerant: 9910032 and P898012 tested under two different conditions: irrigated and stressed at flowering. The results showed that the genotype 9910032 and 9618158 showed better physiological characteristics when compared to other genotypes, resulting in greater productivity. The identification of the ecophysiological features enables a greater understanding of the mechanisms involved in this type of environment. |
