| Abstract | The study aimed at investigating the effects of Individual and collaborative writing on the complexity, accuracy and fluency of Iranian intermediate EFL learners L2 written productions. To this end, sixty EFL learners were divided into two groups. The participants in both groups were asked to compose a story based on the provided picture sheet. One group worked individually, and the other group worked in pairs. T-test results indicated no significant differences in the complexity of the texts produced by the pairs and the individuals. Moreover, the findings demonstrated that collaborative writing fostered more accurate L2 written productions while individual writing promoted more fluent compositions. The results disclosed some pedagogical implications with special relevance to teaching the skill of writing. |
