| Abstract | In the present work, UV-B Solar Irradiance measurements (280-315 nm) has been taken at the Technical University of the North in the city of Ibarra Ecuador. The data corresponding to the period from April 11 to October 31, 2017 has been statistically analyzed. The results found, so far, show that the daily UV-B radiation reaches similar values during the measurement period, with an average of 43 kJ / m2. The solar irradiance has an average daily value with its highest between 12h00 and 13h00 with an approximate average of 2.07 W / m2. This information, allow us to estimate the attenuation in radiation due to clouds. There are some semi-glacial days in which the measured values exceed the average measurement obtained during clear days. It is assumed that there is a reinforcement of the radiation due to the presence of clouds in semi-glacial days. The measured UV-B radiation values are so high at the mentioned hours that have a direct effect on human health and are related to a possible depletion of the ozone layer in equatorial latitudes, this can be also linked to climate change factors. |
