| Abstract | Ethanolic and aqueous extracts (decoction and maceration) of 5 local plant varieties were prepared and their anti-adhesive activity was tested against 6 strains (3 strains of Streptococcus and 3 strains of Lactobacillus). The results of this study showed that the non concentrated extracts of the plants tested on planktonic cells, in liquid medium, showed a low antibacterial activity on the strains tested, while the anti-adhesive activity test of the concentrated extracts revealed a strong anti-adhesive effect of the extracts obtained by decoction (IP) against Streptococcus strains showing without affecting Lactobacillus strains. A strong inhibition of the adhesion of Lactobacillus strains was observed with the ethanoic extracts (EP). Similarly, the antibiofilm activity of the concentrated extracts showed that IP) exhibits a very strong antibiofilm activity against the 3 Streptococcus strains. |
