| Abstract | This work was developed with the objective of evaluating the production of crisp lettuce, cv. Elba, cultivated in coconut fiber substrate and fertirrigated with potassium enriched salt solutions. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at UFERSA, Mossoró, RN. A completely randomized design with five treatments and three replicates was used, with each replicate represented by four vessels with a capacity of 3 L of substrate. Marques et al. of K; S4 S2 + 100% of K; S5 S2 + 150 were used with five nutrient solutions (S1 standard solution; S2 salinized standard solution (3.5 dS m 1) % K). The plants were collected 30 days after transplanting and the following variables were evaluated: crown diameter, stem diameter, number of leaves (total and commercial), leaf area, leaf succulence, fresh mass (total and commercial) and total dry mass. The use of saline water in the preparation of the nutrient solution reduced all analyzed variables, however, the supplementation with 50% of potassium (S3) in relation to the concentration used in the standard solution inhibited the effect of salinity on the plants. |
