| Abstract | This document includes a series of theoretical references for the study of HAFS and HAFSS, basing the information on literature sources, the site and interviews with personnel trained in the subject. It speaks of the importance of water conservation and pollution by heavy metals that have adverse effects on health and the environment. The wastewater treatment using phytoremediation includes constructed wetlands, is shown as a viable alternative in terms of reduced construction and operational costs. It also describes the advantages and limitations of the two types of wetlands, FS and FSS, proposing the latter as the most suitable to tropical conditions of our region in metal removal and the need to isolate vectors that affect water quality and population. It also shows the latest advances in research and technology in this field, where they are coupled or hybrid systems of HAFSS to further enhance their pollutant removal efficiencies. Finally, It documents some case studies that support the overall objective of this work. |
