Abstract	This paper analyses the synchronization of the cyclical fluctuation of Mexican manufacturing industries with the US business cycle. The growth-cycle approach is applied to five year rolling windows for the period 1980-2004, which allows us to appreciate the temporal evolution of this phenomenon. The results suggest that integration has been heterogeneous and that trade may have played an important role. Also, it can be observed that the more integrated activities are, the more vulnerable they are to external shocks, which can become a serious drawback of this new development strategy.
