Description	Journal: Australian and New Zealand journal of ophthalmology The management of active viral replication in the corneal epithelium is not always straightforward despite the availability of effective topical antiviral agents. The list of lesions that may mimic epithelial infection with herpes simplex virus is long and now includes Acanthamoeba infection. Problems with antiviral agent toxicity and corticosteroid administration may also at times obscure the diagnosis while at the same time making management difficult.
