| Description | Journal: SSRN Electronic Journal In recent years, a more visible movement for self-determination in Balochistan has emerged. Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province in terms of geographic size, is a province rich in natural resources. From 1948 to 1977, four different conflicts for Baloch independence were fought. Since the mid-2000s, an intermittent conflict between Baloch separatist groups and Pakistan has remained prevalent in Balochistan. Reportedly, numerous human rights abuses have occurred in Balochistan. This Article is intended to make a unique contribution to the international law literature by comprehensively examining the question of self-determination for Balochistan. |
