| Abstract | Implant-supported overdentures offer many advantages over conventional complete dentures. Implant placement in the atrophic mandible is complicated as the available bone is insufficient. Different therapeutic options have been proposed, most being more complicated and expensive. Nerve repositioning is an excellent alternative to augmentation procedures.$ ^{[1]}$ But it is relatively difficult, and has a huge risk of inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) damage. This report presents a case of mandibular atrophy in which the IAN repositioning was successfully performed, and the prosthodontic rehabilitation completed with implant placement and fabrication of an implant retained overdenture. |
