| Description | Journal: Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics The magnetic phase diagram of the quasi one-dimensional antiferromagnetic $(CH_{3}NH_{3})MnCl_{3}.2H_{2}$O was determined for magnetic fields H up to 50 kOe. For H parallel to the easy axis, the T=0 spin-flop field is $H_{sf}$(O)=19 kOe, and a bicritical point occurs at $T_{b}$=3.22K and $h_{b}$=22.4 kOe. The spin-flop to paramagnetic line extends to temperatures well above $T_{b}$. One of the boundaries for H perpendicular to the easy-axis was also determined and shows that the transition temperature, $T_{c}$, increases with H. These last features are consistent with the quasi-one-dimensional model. |
