NDLI: Some aspects of laser-produced plasmas

Description	Journal: Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion Reviews progress in understanding some of the mechanisms involved in, and applications of, laser produced plasmas which have been made since the first observation of the phenomenon some 21 years ago. Visual characteristics, formation mechanisms, certain scattering and reflective properties and some spectroscopic applications of pulsed plasmas are discussed. A brief account of work on plasmas initialised and sustained by CW resonantly tuned lasers is given.
