| Description | Journal: Pure and Applied Optics: Journal of the European Optical Society Part A A full-field optical method for determining the mean value and the standard deviation of the opening sizes of grids has been developed. The method is based on diffraction theory and statistical optics and is to be used for automatic inspection of sieves with grid periods varying from 75 mu m to 11 mm. In this paper, we discuss the method and its practical realization in the form of a prototype apparatus. Also, we present results of simulations and experiments that have been carried out to test the validity of the method. |
