| Description | Journal: Superconductor Science and Technology Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) have been performed on laser deposited $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{7- delta }$ (YBCO) superconducting thin films on $Y_{2}O_{3}$-stabilized $ZrO_{2}$ (YSZ) substrates with various substrate temperatures. Films grown with substrate temperatures below 760 degrees C show large misorientations between the grains near the interface with the substrate. Also near the interface with the substrate, large polygonal spirals were observed in the sample prepared at 740 degrees C. Thin films grown on the substrates at temperatures above 760 degrees C contain c-oriented islands interconnected by c-oriented bridges. |
