NDLI: Dielectric response in semiconductors

Description	Journal: Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics The dielectric matrix for a semiconductor is discussed in the long-wavelength limit as a function of energy. The off-diagonal elements are related to the properties of the Jones zone while the diagonal part corresponds to a simple interpolation formula and has the standard zero-energy long-wavelength limit. The total matrix is then inverted and the difference between the interaction in metals and semiconductors discussed.
