Description	Journal: Physics Bulletin The comments of The Institute of Physics on the report of the Finniston enquiry (Physics Bulletin June 1980 p164) must surely be in general accord with the views of the majority, if not all, of Institute members. I found particular satisfaction in the fifth section of the Institute's response, where the importance was acknowledged of the availability of a range of educational avenues for those scientists employed in industry who wish ultimately to be registered as engineers.
