| Description | Journal: Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics MnBi/Al/MnBi thin films were prepared by using an electron-beam evaporation method then vacuum annealing. The effective magnetic anisotropy constant $K_{eff}$ of the MnBi/Al/MnBi thin film increases compared with MnBi thin film of similar magnetic thickness without an Al interlayer. This increase of $K_{eff}$ may be caused by the contributions of interface anisotropy. Moreover, the temperature dependence of magnetic torque in the MnBi/Al/MnBi thin film demonstrates a small kink at 240 °C, which is based on a small increase of the saturation magnetization $M_{S}$. As a consequence, the polar Kerr rotation of the MnBi/Al/MnBi thin film is also enhanced after the high-temperature measurement. |
